As part of the multi-year Area 9 motorway maintenance and intervention contract with National Highways, Colas Ltd deployed the ANAIS service for one year. ANAIS was deployed from June 2023 and used on around 3,760 km of motorways and trunk roads around Birmingham.

We are at the end of the initial year of ANAIS deployment in Area 9. More than 50 alert zones have been preventively identified, prompting the manager to plan preventive infrastructure safety work (markings, signs, maintenance, etc.).

This successful deployment is now leading to discussions with National Highways about a possible future deployment on a larger scale and over a longer period. Discussions are also underway in other international territories.
