In Aubervilliers, Opéliv streamlines deliveries in the city center and calms public spaces

Winner of the Quartiers Métropolitains d’Innovation program led by the Métropole du Grand Paris and operated by Paris&Co, the City of Aubervilliers has embarked on a project to transform its downtown shopping district. Among the priority issues are calming public spaces, encouraging active mobility, and facilitating delivery conditions.

It is within this framework that our Opéliv by QIEVO solution was deployed. This solution aims to facilitate deliveries by coordinating flows between retailers and delivery drivers, thanks to a shared calendar and a user-friendly interface.

An experiment serving retailers and the city

The project began with a field assessment phase: each retailer in the city center was met individually to identify their delivery requirements and constraints. These discussions enabled us to draw up a precise map of areas of congestion and conflicts of use, and to design a collective schedule adapted to the realities of the neighborhood.

With help from the Mobility by Colas team and the city's Commerce Department, shop owners got training on how to use the app. Almost 80% of them downloaded it and started reporting their deliveries. The long-term goal is to better predict delivery slots and gradually make traffic flow smoother.

A project that contributes to the overall effort to calm traffic in the city center

The Opéliv experiment enabled the city, businesses, and transport companies to work together to improve deliveries in public spaces. The initiative led to an assessment that prompted the city to develop an action plan and measures to improve public spaces:

  • Reinforcement of road markings and signage in delivery areas,
  • Controls to combat illegal parking,
  • Communication and awareness campaign targeting local residents and businesses,
  • Inclusion of the future Grand Paris Line 15 construction site in delivery plans.

These concrete measures, developed jointly by the City of Aubervilliers, Plaine Commune, and Mobility by Colas, aim to restore peaceful sharing of public space while improving the quality of life for residents and logistics for businesses.

Towards a more sustainable urban logistics model

The Aubervilliers experiment illustrates Opéliv's ability to facilitate coordination between economic players and local authorities to build a more fluid and efficient last-mile logistics system.

Through this project, Mobility by Colas confirms its commitment to working alongside local authorities to reconcile urban attractiveness, ecological transition, and efficient mobility.
