On the road to the future: Colas is a major partner of the Moniteur Innovation Day

Anticipating future mobility as from now, while taking into account energy and environmental constraints, etc. At the core of Colas's concerns, this topic is naturally on the agenda of the 4th edition of the Moniteur Innovation Day on 4 July at the Seine Musicale near Paris.

Created on the initiative of the Moniteur Group, since 2019 the Moniteur Innovation Day has been a key event for those involved in the transformation of cities, localities and regions. More than 1000 decision makers from the sector meet at the event to exchange views and highlight their initiatives at round table conferences or in the course of additional series of events on particular topics. The 2022 edition focuses on the major social challenge of protecting the planet through the immediate integration of environmentally friendly and responsible practices. The four plenary sessions will examine the prospects for short- and medium-term changes in behaviour and the city ("Living in 2050"); professions and collaboration ("Taking Action in 2040"); systems, localities and regions ("Sharing in 2030"); the world and the Olympic Games ("Playing in 2024"). Offering examples of specific responses to these issues, the series of topical events entitled "Responding to the environmental emergency" and "Laying sustainable foundations" will supplement this inspiring panorama of innovative practices.

Colas added value

Colas had to be present at this event: having invested for many years in responsible mobility issues, this global market leader is developing services through Mobility by Colas that combine the traditional know-how of a road building company with the world of digital and new technologies to promote local and regional development. Remember that these services are based on digital technology and the use of the following data: Moov'hub (a unique MaaS service platform encouraging the environmental transition); ANAIS (a collaborative digital service facilitating preventive road management that contributes to road safety); QIEVO (a centralised planning and regulation system for last-mile logistics that limits the nuisance caused by construction sites and makes them more acceptable).

These innovative tools complement an overall road infrastructure protection strategy. Colas attaches so much importance to preventive maintenance both in order to make the investments relevant, and out of concern for the environment: a bad road causes more CO2 emissions and incurs more costs.

Two Colas representatives are naturally included in the Moniteur Innovation Day agenda, among the 100 speakers from around the world invited to share their expertise on the topics covered in this edition. Frédéric Gardès (CEO of Colas) will speak on the issue of low-carbon mobility ("Living in 2050"); Laurent Le Boulc'h (Director of Infrastructures and Sustainable Smart Mobility at Colas) will provide feedback during the round table on "laying sustainable foundations", explaining how Colas has redesigned its works in the light of the new expectations. Now more than ever, tomorrow will not wait.
