Eure-et-Loir department - Preventive management of the departmental road networkNearly 7,500 kilometers of departmental roads crisscross the Eure-et-Loir. On a daily basis, the department works to meet the traffic and safety needs of the people of Eure-et-Loir. To help them in this mission, Colas works with the departmental council's teams to deploy the ANAIS service, for preventive management of road assets. ISSUESAfter decades of falling accident rates and road deaths, a plateau has been reached. New methods and solutions are needed to improve road safety. Eure-et-Loir is the département with the most kilometers of departmental roads in France. As such, motorist safety is a major concern for the departmental council. AIM OF THE PROJECT
HOW IT WORKSANAIS is a system for collecting and analyzing data on vehicle behavior on the road. It can be used to identify warning zones on the road network, and to provide road managers with maintenance recommendations for their road assets.
SOLUTION IMPLEMENTATION
RESULTSThe ANAIS service is being rolled out between 2019 and 2025. To date, the Department has carried out over 200 preventive safety visits to areas identified thanks to ANAIS, improving safety in dozens of areas on a preventive basis. The Eure-et-Loir Departmental Council's road safety officer tells us more:
